2018 Review of the Year - My 12 favourite projects.

Well hello there,

As we head rapidly towards the end of 2018, I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of you who have helped and supported me this year - whether you are a blog reader, customer, team member, Facebook follower, YouTube watcher, newsletter subscriber - you have all helped to build my business and I am so grateful for that - so THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.

It has been an amazing 12 months and I am hoping for lots more in 2019. For my last post of 2018 I decided that I would do a review of my year, featuring my favourite project from each of the previous 12 months. I've had so much fun looking back over the year and recalling some of these projects. If you'd like to read more about them, just click on the photos to go to the original blog post. Or click on the video links given to watch the tutorials.

So to kick off, we are way back in January.

Lots of Happy card kit Stampin Up

I just had to include these cards, made from the Lots of Happy project kit. I still love this kit so much. Watch how I made some of the cards in the video below (click to my video channel to see how I made the others).

And then for February, I chose this project:

Party Pandas Stampin Up

This panda set was one of the free ones offered in Sale-a-bration last year and this pop up card was one of my most popular posts of the year. See the video tutorial by clicking the image below.

For March I have chosen this project as my favourite:

Beautiful Bouquet Stampin Up

This card uses what is still one of my favourite stamp sets - Beautiful Bouquet. Watch the video below:

So on to April - during this month I made a fair few cards using "Balloon Celebration" - I love this card - so bright and cheerful!

Watch the video here:

On to May and this card - I actually made this one is a whole rangfe of colours and I loved them all.

Decorative Ribbon Border punch Stampin Up

The Decorative Ribbon border punch is one of the much neglected products in the Annual Catalogue I feel - so was great to make it the star of the show here.

Some of you will know how fond I am of rainbows, so I just had to include this card, using the Happy Birthday Thinlits die - one of my most used dies - definitely won't be selling it even when it retires!

Happy Birthday die Stampin Up

I had so much fun making this card - such a great technique!

For July I have chosen this pretty butterfly card using the Springtime Impressions dies.

Springtime Impressions Stampin Up

How gorgeous is that patterned paper - and the two designs coordinate so well!

Onwards to August and this is a card I made in a one to one session with one of my customers.

Detailed dragonflies Share what you love Stampin Up

We actually CASEd a card we found on Pinterest, changing it a little. But love how it turned out and I'm always thrilled to find a reason to use those beautiful dragonfly dies!

By September, I was in full steam ahead Christmas mode! This one definitely made it into my "favourites" for Christmas 2018.

Peaceful Noel Stampin Up

And it used a stamp set I don't even own - I borrowed it from my good friend Gez (Nigezza Creates).  Unusually for me it features a lot of stamping and only minimal die cutting - my projects are usually the other way round!

In October, I was still making Christmas cards, but back to rainbows with this very Merry & Bright card.

Foxy Friends Stampin Up

Just love those bright and vibrant colours! And love finding a new way to use an old stamp set - this time the "Foxy Friends"!

November saw me very busy making several different versions of my Stacked Box Advent Calendar for various friends, relations and (grown up!) children.

Broadway Bound DSP Stampin Up

Unusual for me as I don't make a huge number of 3D projects! But I really enjoyed making these.

And lastly, my pick for December. I have chosen this card which I think sums up my style totally - very clean and simple, using die cuts with minimal stamping!

I love this die set so much - I can't think why I left it so long to start using it!

So that's the end of my review of 2018 - quite difficult to choose just 12 favourite projects. Did I include yours?

All that remains is for me to wish you a very Happy, Healthy and Peaceful New Year. See you on he other side!

December InspireInk Blog Hop - Winter Thank You

Hello there and welcome to our InspireInk Blog Hop for December. And our theme for this month is "Winter Thank You". Hopefully you have hopped here after seeing the amazing work by Dee

I'm sure we'll all be needing to send a few thank you cards to the givers of our Christmas gifts so this theme is very appropriate!

Beautiful Blizzard and Blizzard Thinlits Die Stampin up

So this is my card - as per usual, very clean and simple! I used the Large Letter dies, which have to be the most hard working dies in my collection! I know they are a significant investment but they are so, so useful!

Beautiful Blizzard and Blizzard Thinlits Die Stampin up

I stamped my letters with the snowflake cluster stamp from the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set and then used three snowflakes die cut from the Blizzard Thinlits die.

Not sure if you see from the photos but I layered the letters up on three layers of card to make them stand out a bit more. I hope you like my simple little project. Like to make one yourself? Watch out tomorrow for the video tutorial!

Meanwhile please keep on hopping. Next up is the lovely Verity who has another fantastic project for you. See it HERE or click on the "Next" button below.
