And another card using Santa's Suit from Stampin' Up!

Hi everyone,

I'm back today with another card I received in a swap on our recent team training day. Today's card was made by Rosa Johnson, a fellow demo and again, a huge amount of work has gone into this card. Rosa, like the card yesterday,  has also used the Santa's Suit stamp set which is so cute and this card has a lovely surprise element to it. This is the front, with the card unopened:

But just keep an eye on the little circle aperture as the card is opened:

How great is that? Such a wow factor to this card. I just love it! If you'd like to see the card in action, pop over and view my quick little video of it HERE.

Hope you have enjoyed my little mini series of cards from swaps from other demos, made using the "Santa's Suit" set. Back to normal next time with another fun tutorial from me - please come back then!

More "Santa's Suit" from Stampin' Up!

Hi there everyone and welcome to the second post in this little mini series of cards I received as part of a swaps group, made by other demos, but all using the same stamp and die set - "Santa's Suit". Today's card was made by Maria Cowans and again has an incredible amount of work in it.

I'm not sure if you tell from the photos but this card has a movement element to it. The whole sleigh, full of presents etc, swings from side to side. You can see it better on this little video I made HERE.

Thanks, Maria, for your lovely card. Come back tomorrow to see the last card in this little series - this one has a real "Wow!" factor - you won't want to miss it!

See you then,

Jill xx

Santa's Suit from Stampin' Up!

Hi there,

A few weeks ago I attended a team training day and participated in some "swaps" - this is where we all make a number of the same card or project and swap with other demos so that we end up with a whole load of different projects to use as inspiration in our businesses. One of the swap groups I was in was for Christmas cards and three of the cards I received used the "Santa's Suit" stamp set from the Autumn Winter catalogue. This is not one I had bought myself but I thought you might like to see the cards I received. They were all incredibly intricate and I can't imagine how much time (and talent) was taken to produce these.

Here is the first card. This one was made by Saffron Redman-Morriss.

I'm not sure you can see all the details of this card properly in the photos so I made a very quick little video too. Watch it HERE

Thank you so much Saffron for your beautiful card.

Come back tomorrow to see another, equally stunning card.

Jill

Card making for beginners with Flurry of Wishes from Stampin' Up!

Hi everyone,

I'm back today to showcase a simple little Christmas card made with the "Flurry of Wishes" stamp set. This is a great card for beginners to try as it uses a very limited amount of resources. Just one stamp pad, one stamp set, two colours of card stock and some rhinestones.

The different shades of blue ink are achieved by "stamping off" some of the snowflakes. A simple technique but very effective, especially if you only have a few colours of ink pad. I explain more in the quick little video I have made HERE.

As you can see, the card was made a little bit more special by adding some stamping to the envelope.

Hope you liked today's project. I have lots more in the pipeline to show you so make sure you sign up on the right of this page, to get notifications by email whenever I add a post.

Back soon,

Jill

Pootlers Birthday Blog Hop with Happy Birthday Gorgeous

Hi there,

Today I am taking part in our monthly Pootlers team Birthday Blog Hop. Every month, we have the chance to showcase a birthday card we have sent to someone special. My card this month was one I made for a special friend, and I then went on to use the design in a card class.

This is a very simple little card using the lovely "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" stamp set. I love this set - so versatile - so many possibilities. And I just love the font used for the greetings.

I have used just three colours of ink to stamp this card. All the outlines were stamped in Smoky Slate, the leaves in Lemon Lime Twist and the flowers in Sweet Sugarplum. I have "stamped off" some of the flowers to give that lighter effect.

Oh and once again I've used the Everyday Label Punch for the sentiment panel. There's a little bit of sponging around the edges to make it "pop"!

To see my video tutorial of how I made my card just click on the link HERE or the image below.

As promised, here are the measurements for the card:

Sweet Sugarplum card blank:
8 3/4 ins x 4 7/8ins, scored at 4 7/8ins
12.5 cm x 25 cm scored at 12.5 cm

White panel:
4 5/8 x 4 5/8ins
12 cm x 12cm

Hope you like my project today - please hop around to all the others who are participating in the blog. There are some lovely projects for you to see from some very talented designers.

Til next time,

Jill

Painted harvest from Stampin' Up!

Hi there everyone,

How are you all? It's been busy, busy, busy around here just recently. My three children are now "grown up" - well theoretically anyway but for a few months I have all three living back at home with us. Although that is lovely in lots of ways it does mean quite a lot of extra work for me in terms of washing, cleaning, tidying, cooking etc! So less time for crafting and blogging. I have still been running classes though and have all the projects we have made to bring you over the coming weeks. I'm especially excited about the Christmas cards I have to show you - it's my favourite time of the year to craft! So watch this space!

Today I'm just popping in here quickly to show you this card.

This card is not one of my creations but is a card I received as a thank you from a fellow team member, Liz Yuille at Old Stables Crafts. One of the really lovely things about being a Stampin' Up! demo is being part of a team and building friendships and relationships with other demos. We support each other, and cheer each other on to achieve more in our businesses. I helped out one of Liz's team with some patterned papers she needed urgently for a class and Liz sent this card as a thank you.

It uses the lovely "Painted Harvest" stamp set - another set I haven't inked up nearly enough! Must put that to right as soon as possible.

I love the colours Liz has used on the card - Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry. An unusual combination but it works really well.

Thanks Liz.

Will be back soon,

Jill
