Pootler's Design Team - Week 3 - Flirty Flowers from Stampin' Up!

Hello there everyone,

Welcome to the third week of the Pootler's Design Team blog hop for September. I hope you have been inspired so far by all the ideas of how to use our featured stamp set : "Flirty Flowers" - such a versatile set!

We are back this week with more fabulous projects using this lovely set. This week I decided to work with the stamp in the top right hand corner, which is a little outline stamp of single flower with a couple of tiny leaves. This is my design:

I have once again used the Decorative Ribbon Border punch to create the little scalloped borders - pop back to last week's post if you'd like to know how I did that!

I have stamped the flowers with Versamark on brightly coloured cardstock and then heat embossed in white. Then for some "fussy cutting" - I cut out each flower by hand using my paper snips - no dies or punches in sight! I cut off the leaves and contemplated how to add them back using green card but in the end I didn't think they were needed!

I have then cut out the Happy Birthday thinlit die from Basic Black card and carefully cut the two words apart. After sticking down the "Happy", I stamped "BIRTHDAY" in Basic Black, using a little stamp from "Tabs for Everything.

What do you think? Not quite as I imagined it, but I quite like it anyway!

Back with my last "Flirty Flowers" project next week,

Til then,

Jill xx

Pootles Blog Hop - Winter Wonder card using Stampin' Up! products

Hi everyone and welcome to the Pootles Team blog hop. I'm so excited to be taking part in this blog hop once again. This time we are showcasing products from the new Autumn/Winter catalogue - and what a lot of gorgeous products there are - including lots of lovely Christmas goodies. Hopefully you have hopped over here after seeing Helen's fabulous project. I am attempting to get started on my Christmas cards early, so here is my contribution:

My card showcases two new products - the absolutely beautiful new Winter Wonder embossing folder:

And the "Trim Your Stocking" die set:

I have cut out the snowflakes from the "Trim Your Stocking" thinlits set in our silver foil card and dazzling diamonds glimmer paper and mounted them on circles cut from our Stitched Shapes Framelit dies. The greeting is a sentiment from the "Merry Mistletoe" set in the Annual Catalogue, which I have heat embossed in silver.  A little bit of our Mini Sequin Trim in silver and ...Ta da!! My card! Hope you like it.

Please take time to hop around all the other blogs in the hop - there are some fabulous projects for you to see and be inspired by.

Next on the hop is the lovely Anna

Pootler's Design Team - Week 2 - Flirty Flowers from Stampin' Up!

Hello there everyone,

Welcome to the second week of the Pootler's Design Team blog hop for September. I hope you were inspired last week with all the ideas of how to use our featured stamp set : "Flirty Flowers".

We are back this week with more fabulous projects using this lovely, versatile set. This week I decided to work with the stamp in the top left corner, which has a little row of quirky flowers and stems.

I coloured the stamp with my marker pens to get the multicoloured effect - don't forget to "huff" on it after colouring to make sure the ink is still moist enough to stamp a clear image!

After stamping the flowers, I used my Old Olive watercolor pencil to draw a haphazard line at the base of the stems to "ground the flowers and swooshed it over with an Aquapainter. The "happy birthday" sentiment is from the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" set.

Do you like the little scalloped borders I have used? Can't find that die or punch in the catalogue? Well I have used our new "Decorative Ribbon Border Punch"

I have just covered up most of the border, just leaving that little scallop edge just peeking out! Just like the sample in the catalogue:

I have embossed the background using our Polka Dot Basics embossing folder and mounted the whole panel on a Daffodil Delight card blank.

Hope you like today's project and that you will get a chance to check out the other member's of the design team.

Another "Flirty Flowers" creation next week!
